Jenny Yang to serve as Director of OFCCP

President Joe Biden has selected Jenny R. Yang to head the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). She previously served as a Commissioner and Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) during the Obama Administration. Yang initiated the EEOC’s push to collect pay data from private employers as part of the EEO-1 report.

According to the Department of Labor, OFCCP works to “protect workers, promote diversity and enforce the law. OFCCP holds those who do business with the federal government (contractors and subcontractors) responsible for complying with the legal requirement to take affirmative action and not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.”

Director Yang grew up in Livingston, N.J. the child of Chinese immigrants. She earned a bachelor’s degree in government at Cornell University and a Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law.
