Valor: National Military Appreciation Month

In 1999 Congress designated May as National Military Appreciation Month to ensure the nation was given the chance to publicly show their appreciation for military servicemembers past and present.
SourceCast pays reverence to the unselfish devotion of active-duty military personnel, their families and Veterans in the @USArmy, @USMC, @USNavy, @usairforce, @USCG, @NationalGuard reminding Americans of the important role the U.S. Armed Forces have played in the history and development of our country.
The month of May was chosen because it has many individual days to note our military’s achievements including:
- Loyalty Day, May 1
- Public Service Recognition Week, May 3 to May 9
- Military Spouses Appreciation Day, May 8
- Armed Forces Day, May 16
- Memorial Day, May 25
Let’s pause and reflect on those who gave their lives in service to our country. We should also honor the sacrifices made by federal, state and municipal government employees as well.
