NDEAM21: Recovery and Inclusion

Join SourceCast as we raise awareness of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). NDEAM seeks to educate employers and local communities about disability employment issues and to celebrate the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

Held annually in October, NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy. This year’s theme is “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion.”

“Our national recovery from the pandemic cannot be completed without the inclusion of all Americans, in particular people with disabilities,” said U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh. “Their contributions have historically been vital to our nation’s success and are more important today than ever. We must build an economy that fully includes the talent and drive of those with disabilities.”

The Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services in conjunction with the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center understands how to grow Virginia’s economy. “Hope and a Path Forward” highlights the skills people with disabilities can add to the workforce once barriers to employment are dismantled. Let’s help in “America’s Recovery” by offering employment opportunities to people with disabilities.
